About us

A kitchen on the ridge, since 2020

We built up here for one reason: every table looks out over the valley. The kitchen is small, everything is cooked to order, and most mornings you can watch the mist burn off the hills below while your coffee is made.

Locals come up for dal bhat and a long lunch. Travellers stop on the way to Manaslu. We cook the same food for both.

Gorkha is the start of a long day for a lot of people. We open early and we can have you fed and on the road quickly.

Weekends fill up, and the terrace tables go first. Tell us when you're coming and we'll keep one for you.

For groups over 8, and any event, please call rather than using the form so we can talk through the menu and seating.

The form opens WhatsApp with your details already written, you press send. We reply there to confirm. Until we do, the table is not held.

Where exactly are you, and is there parking?

Aahale, Gorkha. The pin on Google Maps is exact, so tap "Get directions" and it will bring you to the door. There's free parking on site.

Can I pay online?

Yes, cash or online payment both work. Ask at the counter which one.

Do you have vegetarian food?

Yes, the veg thali, veg momo, chowmein, and most of the breakfast menu. Everything vegetarian is marked on the menu above. Tell us when you order if you need it cooked without onion or garlic.

Can I come before sunrise?

Call the night before and we'll open early for you. It's the best time of day up here and we'd rather you saw it.

Is there wifi?

Yes, free for guests. Ask at the counter for the password.

Do you deliver?
